Client: NBC Saturday Night Live

Challenge: NBC needed a series of short motion pictures for Saturday Night Live performers.

Solution: Continuing his 20 year association with NBC, Saturday Night Live and writer Tom Schiller, Marshad created films with Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Jan Hooks, Teri Garr, Phil Hartman, Victoria Jackson, Jon Lovitz, and Peter Ackroyd. Neal Marshad Productions has been under contract with NBC to provide production management, cinematography, production design, post production, casting services, location search and management, set design and construction, and special effects.

Result: These films were a contribution to increasing ratings in this classic comedy series. SNL has been a network television showcase for short films by Robert Altman, Albert Brooks, Tim Robbins, Andy Warhol, and Tom Schiller. The show has been nominated for 85 Emmy Awards, and has been honored with the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award. The show continues to achieve the highest ratings of any late-night television program. Neal's production photographs are published in the book "NOTHING LOST FOREVER" by Michael Streeter which profiles many of the films Neal produced and shot for Saturday Night Live including "Love is a Dream" with Phil Hartman, "Hooked On Sushi" with Kevin Nealon, "Java Junkie" wih Teri Garr, "Falling in Love" with Jon Lovitz, and others.
