Challenge: NBC needed a series of short motion pictures for its iconic variety show: Saturday Night Live.

Solution: Continuing The Marshad Technology Group’s 48+ year association with NBC, Saturday Night Live, and writer Tom Schiller, Marshad created films with Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Jan Hooks, Teri Garr, Phil Hartman, Victoria Jackson, Jon Lovitz, Peter Aykroyd and others. NBC contracted with The Marshad Technology Group to provide production management, cinematography, production design, post production, casting services, location search and management, set design and construction, and special effects.

Result: These short films Marshad produced were a contribution to increasing ratings in this classic comedy/variety series. SNL has been nominated for 300+ Emmy Awards, and has been honored with the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award and continues to achieve the highest ratings of any late-night television program. One of the many films Neal produced and shot for Saturday Night Live over the decades include “The Land Before Television” with Dana Carvey, “Love is a Dream” with Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks, “Hooked On Sushi” with Kevin Nealon, “Java Junkie” with Teri Garr, “Falling in Love” with Jon Lovitz and Victoria Jackson, and others. The film “Love is a Dream” was selected by producer Lorne Michaels to be featured on SNL25, SNL40 and SNL50 in 2025.
